  • Issue#199351: Radio Control - HELP! Quadcopter flight unstable!

Hi guys, I've been on this project well over a yer now, and i'm losing my interest every second now. I'll just start from the beginning. I purchased my first quad well over a year ago. It was a 250 frame, kk 2.1.5 board mini racer and the build worked flawlessly. All the parts were ordered from hobby king, and like i said, it flew phenomenally. (compared to what was coming up next...) My second project shortly after that was to build a 550 frame to carry a gimbal and a gopro, and i landed on ...

  • Issue#39536: Quadcopter - Traxxas Aton Plus

Does anyone have any opinions on this quad? I am very new to this whole thing and I've purchased it. So far I have really enjoyed flying in film mode. It will be a while until I am ready for other modes. Hope I didn't buy one too soon, and this turns out to be a respected quad. I've had luck with other Traxxas models, so I figured it I couldn't go wrong for the price. Thanks, Tim...

  • Issue#81187: Quadcopter - Liftoff game diff from rate?

I have downloaded liftoff and have been able to learn to fly relatively well in accro mode. But when I turn on my nighthawk pro with taranis controller and switch to accro or rate (3rd option, switch all the way down) the quad will immediately tilt hard and the quad does not perform like the program does. Is liftoff not the flight simulator like I thought it to be? Or is there perhaps something wrong with my quad?...

  • Issue#704096: Radio Control - Quadcopter with IR sensors (Obstacles avoidance)

Hi all, I'm currently working on a project on quadcopter with obstacles avoidance capability, I am using a KK2.0 flight controller, Arduino Uno board and sharp infrared sensor (Kingduino GP2D12). The IR sensor measures the distance between the sensor itself and the object and sends it to the arduino in the form of analog signal (value range: 0 to 1023). We should make a setpoint say 30cm from the IR sensor so if the setpoint reaches below 30cm the PID algorithm in the arduino will start its w...

  • Issue#758366: Quadcopter - First build, Reusing parts...

Hello all, first post and I need a little help. I'm an electrician and run a small 3d printing business. I want to 3d print a frame and buy some 1000 kv motors and ESC's. But for the rest of the electronics and to keep costs low I would like to strip down and use the flight controller, reciever, transmitter, and battery from one of my cheapy drones laying around. I'd be using something along the likes of a UDI 818a. In the future then I can buy better parts and replace them to gai...

  • Issue#777655: Radio Control - Quadcopter Motor Power Incongruency

Hi all, I just finished my first quadcopter build. I ran it, but it doesn't have the power to get off the ground. Without carrying the battery, it did manage to lift off, which is making me suspect a weight problem. I've been checking the thrust of the propellers on online calculators, but they keep giving me answers of, like, six grams of thrust per propeller. I'm using SunnySky X2212-13 980 KV II motors with a Turnigy Nano-tech 7.4v 5000mAh battery and 8-inch props with 4.5 inches of pitch. Is...

  • Issue#540104: Radio Control - quadcopter fell in pool of water

While flying, (well actually right after the flying bit) my quad crashed in a puddle of water and was completely submerged. I unplugged the battery and tried to shake off as much water as i could. Then I let it dry for an hour. Now when I plug the battery in, it beeps as if normal, then it keeps giving a beep every second. The motors give a small jerk, but don't spin anymore (none of the 4). It's a Eachine falcon 250, so a CC3D standard flightcontroller. The leds on the electronics part still bl...

  • Issue#555601: Quadcopter - Various, motors, ESCs, flight controllers - enough to build at least 4 - 450/500 frame

During building and trying stuff, delays with eBay shipping to me and pushing me to HobbyKing and other faster - but more expensive shipping online stores - I have accumulated a lot of stuff I am not using or needing. after settling on 1 450 and 1 500 alien frame I am rebuilding and taking them both to GPS. So I figure if I can sell on some of the collection of various quad building parts - I can put $$$$ towards a top range radio. I also have three radios, a channel... Various, motors, ESCs,...

just setting up my first build and can find very little on using 3 opto's and a linear bec esc on the build. I am trying to get away with NOT adding an external UBEC and just use a single ESC with my linear BEC ESC? Is this possible and do I have to cut any wires. • Issue#195800: Radio Control - Quadcopter flipping over and going straight into ground for no reason

So I got my Naze32 a few days ago and installed it on my QAV250 and it worked really well for the first few flights. Later on my quadcopter started flipping over and going into the ground for no reason. I heard people tell me its because I might have a bad soldering joint but I'm not sure its that. Here is a video I took of it, the first flip was intentional but not the second. Quadcopter Flip Crash (0 min 8 sec) -Erick...
